Smart lights give you the flexibility to control the ambiance throughout your home with any method you want. You can use your smart phone, switches/dimmers, motion sensors, or set up timers or geographic location triggers. So that when you wake up in the morning your lights are coming on automatically. If you leave, the lights turn off. If you come home at night, the lights welcome you. Even if you're away, you can control your lights or have them turn on automatically to ward off intruders. You also have the flexibility to choose the color of your lighting, from basic soft white to a full spectrum of colors. The LED's can produce millions of different colors, allowing you to fine tune your home the way you want it. They also use substantially less power than a standard incandescent bulb, therefore saving you money on electricity.
Motorized blinds are another great addition to a home automation system. They allow you to control the natural lighting in your home easily in many different ways. You have the ability to raise or lower your blinds with a remote, your smart phone, or have them set to be triggered by an activity like sunrise/sunset or watch a movie. When using them in an activity, all of your lights and blinds can be triggered at the same time with one button. For example if you set up an activity for watching a movie, the blinds could lower and the lights dim with one touch.
